Brazil Ranger w/ OEM outboard shocks and Dana rear
I was looking around on Ford's Brazil website just for fun and noticed their new Sport model of Ranger. It comes with a Dana rear end and outboard shocks like the F-150. Keep in mind, Brazil's Rangers are built off the same platform as the US models. I wonder how much of a benefit there is with the shocks?

Ford's Brazil website is here: https://www.ford.com.br/Default.asp#inicio There is a link for the Ranger Sport at the lower right hand corner. |
WHICH Dana axle? If it's a 35, I'll pass.
My guess is a 35, but I can't tell.
I wonder if the outboard shocks would be adaptable to US trucks with the 7.5 or 8.8. The outboard shocks seem less likely to get hung up off road, though they still drop down below the axle. |
idk but i REALLY like the headlights and tail lights, i seen some the other day.
i wish i could find a place to get the tail lights without paying a crap load. |
the one i seen the guy yelled "south america mexico" out of the window.
I like mine better...that thing just look plain, look at those door handles...
that 2.3L is power stroke (turbo) diesel btw.
looks nice. power stroke too?
The 2.3 is actually the same gasser used here. There was a 2.5 diesel which was replaced by the 3.0 diesel a couple years ago.

The Limited models have nice floor consoles and seats. You can check them out in the link in my first post. The Ranger seems pretty popular in Brazil. There are a couple of large Ranger clubs there and Ford seems to advertise it more than they do here. I don't know why we don't get some of the cool updates like the 1 piece lights and outboard shocks. |
there are reasons why it is not here... it would be some competition with the F-150 for sure...
I still want a Mexican ranger tailgate.
its funny, i bet the Brazilians and Mexicans are looking at our trucks wishing they could get our parts lol
How much would the outboard shocks help with body roll? I have quite a bit since i took off my front sway bar. the extra travel is worth it, but if i could lessen it by moving the shocks i would.
