After taking a small swim in that lake, I don't want to 'waterproof' my truck. I just want to be on the safe side when I need it. I noticed that my front axle had just a hole in the top of the pumpkin.

Does anyone know where I can find the little do-hicky to stick in the pumpkin so that I can run a breather tube off of it?

Also, what other breather tubes are there on the truck? I'm only aware of the axle breather tubes, but I keep hearing about tranny breather tubes. Any more tubes that I should be aware of so that I can route to the engine bay? Specific locations?

Just transmission and rear/front diff I would worry about.

On the transmission it should be directly on top right in front of the output shaft. You have to pop this metal piece off (it's just the stock breather so to speak, it is just a metal circle with clips on it), and put 5/8" hose on it, then I reduced down to 3/8" hose all the way up to the engine bay.

I put 3/8 I believe for the rear diff. For the front I would immagine either 5/8 or 3/8. It should be on the top of your 44.

LMK if you need more help, it's just that you have to size and run all the lines and zip tie them up and out of the way. Just remember leave slack for flex!

I am going to be running all 2 of my breather tubes (manual transmission so I only have the 2 diffs) up into the engine compartment that way they for sure won't get water into them.

You can run them up into the frame rail. That is where the stock breather tubes go.

I can find hose all day, but I need the threaded piece to screw down into my pumpkin. Are all of these the same for all axles?

no they arent the same, different sizes and threads, try to find the nipple from a junk yard or something.

 

The ford D44 are some type of NPT thread. I just picked up the correct size thread and barb at napa.

 

wait, my front Diff has a breather tube?! I didnt know this. I only extended the rear diff and the tranny..... geuss ill do that today...
