Bull bar owners.....

Bull bar owners...
I can't decide between purchasing either the Aries or Westin Ultimate bull bars. I prefer the black bar with stainless skid plate. Aries has 3" tube. Westin is 2.5" tube.
Comments on ease of installation, design, quality of build, cost, etc would be much appreciated.
Would the 2.5" bar look more proportionate on my 2009 Ranger Sport? Is the front license plate relocation bracket required on each of them? Thanks!

I personally wouldn't get a bull bar, they're made out of exhaust tubing and will easily fold and bend in an impact, if you're looking for protection go with a full brush guard or custom off road front bumper.

And as for the license plate relocation, yes it's required if you need to be able to see a front plate.

These things are just for looks.

If you are offroading at all and need to bounce off a tree or something like that, this isn't the bar for you.

I don't have a bull bar, but I have a chrome Westin safari bar and while it looks good, it is hollow and truly only made to add visual aesthetics to the truck.

Here is another style of bull bar I've seen on Ranger-Forums.

Looks good and I think is manufactured or referred to as a Hunter Bull Bar. Ebay seems to be the only place you can get this style.

I had a westin on my 06 FX4. It was actually stronger than I thought it would be. But its no rugged enough for anything more than a very easy pushing of another car. Any significant bumping and it'll bend. Looks good though.
