Behind the cat, after the ball fit joint with 2 bolts/springs, measures about 2" outside diameter all the way to the muffler. After the muffler, 2 1/4" out the back to the tip. Correct, not correct?

 

Sounds correct. But on my '01 4.0L, the coupling back was 2". I believe just the tip was enlarged to 2.25 on the newer rangers.

I'll add.....Behind the last cat to the coupling is 2.50". I had the exhaust shop cut behind that last cat and do a 3 bolt flange w/ 2.50" going to the muff.

 

Mine is definitely larger after the muffler (closer to the back) than it is before it. That's why I assume its 2" and then 2.25". I think I'm just going to go 2.25" from cat through my Magnaflow, out the back 2.25".

 

ya after the muffler it is larger.. i noticed that when i removed mine..

I just ran 2.50 from the last cat into the muffler and dumped with a 3" turn down.
