Cargo Bed Question

Hi there

there's a guy selling a fleetside bed from a 2002 edge.
I have a 2004 edge stepside, price is fair ($100), I haven't had a chance to look at it yet, but before waisting my time I'd like to ask you guys first if is there any compatibility issues that I should be aware of.
If the information provided is not enough let me know and I'll add whatever is needed.

I know that my bumper is not going to fit, but besides that I don't see any other problems, but that's just me.

Thanks in advance

I think you will need the tail lamps because I think they are different from yours. They appear to be missing in the picture.
The fuel line will have to be extended and possibly the wiring to the taillamps. Other than that it should be an easy swap...after getting it painted.

If you ever drive your truck up around Indiana I will give you 250 for the stepside bed.

Wow, that's fast .... thanks a lot for your input.

Thing is I have my own company which forces me to carry several ladders and I really have a hard time finding an affordable ladder rack and/or camper that fits my stepside. There's plenty of stuff available for fleetsides and really affordable.

I'm gonna have to crunch some numbers and see if painting, fixing and stuff that needs to be added to this "new" bed will make to a better bottomline $$-wise

The fuel lines and wiring are the same, it'll fit either bed.

Cool.
Do you guys have any recommendation on ladder racks or shells for stepsides ?

I was looking at THIS ONE as an alternative, don't think it needs any modification, but if needed will be minimal and with the tools I have I can probably tackle it.

Tail lights are the same. Harness plugs in just left of the license plate between bed an bumper.

Fuel fill tube should be ok.

Filler tubes are different. The step side has a shorter neck than the fleet side.

seems to be a lot of trouble. Just burn it down, claim and pay it off. Then buy something full size :D

Yeah, you're supposed to get the fuel filler neck and swap that if you swap beds...

You don't have to mess with it if you go from a fleetside to styleside but if you go from a styleside to a fleetside you wil have to extend some stuff.
