Catch all mats + vinyl floor covering?
 

I want to get some Catch-All molded floor mats for my truck, but I don't know how well they will work with my truck's vinyl floor covering. Does anyone have these mats in a truck without carpet? How well do they stay in place?

Whats the point?? Most people use them to protect the carpet but without carpet i dont understand why you would spend the money on them.

Because it is a pain to keep the vinyl clean. You can't just vaccum it and have it look nice like carpet...all the fine dirt still stays on it.

okay....I believe my little brother's "catch alls" are made my Duraline or something or huskyline....don't really knowthe brand. He has an xl with the vynal/rubber floor. The mats are diamond plate plastic catch-alls. Personally, I HATE those floor mats....they slide back and forth, sometimes getting caught up on the throttle pedal. you can't depress the clutch all the way.

They would work great if there was some way to secure them to the floor. But, if your partial to putting holes to the bottom of your truck....don't get them. Carpeted trucks they word great. You would cut off all the "prickles" that hold them in place on carpet, use high strength velco (whoops...I'd better call it hook & loop tape) to the floor. Make sure the velcro has an awesome adhesion to slick plastics, or use some sandpaper.

I know the ones you are talking about...I'm looking at ones from a different brand, but I'll probably have the same issue.

I found some cheap carpet OEM ones on eBay that are molded. I'm going to bid on them and see how well they work. If they suck, I'll just put them in my mom's Ranger (which has carpet).

I got some $15 Valuecraft black mats from auto zone, they slide and get pushed but O well, and I dont have a problem with fine dirt on my rubber floor. Maybe its vacume? I use the 50 cent huge ones at car washes, that is until i can find myself a nice cheap Craftsman wet/dry vac.

Dude go to walmart and get the $8 mats they have... they work fine in my truck, but they do move around a little, kinda because of the size of the mats, they get mushed up a little

my vinyl is getting a dent from my heel, thats why i would get mats, and he does have a point, the vinyl isn't as easy as you would think to clean.. personally i think its easier than carpet if you have the right stuff.

I have them. They work great because they are lipped so they catch spills. I put a carpeted one in my wifes Mariner. I put a vinyl one in my truck. The only problem I have is the cltch pedal catches the back of the mat. I need to trim the mat. If you have an automatic this won't be an issue.

It might slide a half inch front to back on the plastic floor. They come with mounts to keep this from happening. I never got around to installing the mounts.

i went to walmart and got some clear ones for about 10 bucks each they work good and to clean them i just use the pressure washer. and they don't move on me

DON'T CLEAN THEM WITH ANYTHING WITH ORANGE IN IT

just rip out your vinyl and seats and stuff and linex the floor of the cab

That's a damn good idea for a trail rig, but you lose all ability to sound-dampen if you daily-drive it.

I got some big rubber mats (Pants Saver or something like those) for the Ranger and it 's a time saver for sure. Instead of having mud, sand, crap on the floor, it's all in the mats. Just dump it out and it's clean. Mine are pretty big so they don't move around a lot, but they do move.....it's rubber on rubber.....LOL

Definatly a good buy for sure. Helps for snow as well, traps the water in there rather then all over the floor.

As for the rubber floor in the truck, it's good for dry sand or mud.....but water just goes under the door sills and under the floor....Mmmm can you say rust out. LOL

Go for the mats, you'll like'em.

I ordered my '03 ranger and my '01 F-350 with the carpet delete option just to get the vinyl floor so I didn't need floor matts. Every few months, just lightly spray them down at the carwash and vaccum the water up. They clean up quite well. If that still isn't to your liking, just use a rag and some windex afterwards. Thats all I have ever used on mine and it looks just like new except for the mark where my heel rests by the gas pedal.
