CEL still on... need advice.
Hey guys,
P0306... cylinder 6 misfire. This is what I have done so far:
New Plugs
New Wires
New Coilpack
Full Seafoam Treatment
Techron Fuel Injector Treatment
Compression check on Cylinder 6 = 140 = good
Brand new fuel injector in Cylinder 6
Last night while driving after I put the fuel injector in truck ran fine all day. Then while in In'N'Out drive thru, CEL flashes, then goes solid. P0306.
Reset the code and socked my steering wheel a few times.
Is there anything else I can try? Is my computer bad or something? I've pretty much cleaned out my bank account trying to get this CEL to go away. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Driver side, very back rear by firewall. I think I have an EGR but not 100% sure.

Google says p0306 is caused by:
* Faulty spark plug or wire - NEW
* Faulty coil (pack) - NEW
* Faulty oxygen sensor(s) - Replaced 6 months ago
* Faulty fuel injector - NEW
* Burned exhaust valve - ?
* Faulty catalytic converter(s) - ?
* Running out of fuel - ....
* Poor compression - Compression is good
* Defective computer - ?

My ECM went bad once on my 86. Car would run perfect and the engine light would be off but as soon as the light came on(and it came on completely randomly) the car would go berserk and idle crappy, hesitate, backfire, you name it. But it only did it once in a while, and the light would sudenly go off and it would run perfect again. You should get a code too telling you the ECM is bad......I did when mine went bad.
Sounds just like my issue.

when i had my misfire issue everytime someone else had one it seemed like their peoblem was my problem too. well after replace everything i could thing of i still had the problem, then a friends granfather said pull the vacume hose off the egr and drive home and see if thats the the problem, he said if u pull the line and it runns perfect then thats it and you need to replace it. well i thought that was crazy. after a month of the problem i gave it a shot. and there ya go that was it.
so to check the egr pull that vacume line off and drive it. it wont clear up instantly but after a few miles if thats the problem you'll know after about 2 or 3 miles. it doesnt hurt anything so dont worry. i doubt that would be it but im sure your willing to give it a shot. driver side manifold is where its located.
