center caps....

do any of you know if anyone makes a center cap with the hub hole in it....the mickey thompson center caps are metal so it will be hard for me to cut like i did my old plastic ones...

Try summit racing. I knwo they have lots of center caps. Just search for the diameter you need.

If you really like the looks of the Mickey Thompson metal centercaps..... You can take them to a local machine shop or maybe you even have an acquaintance that is a machinist that can turn the cap on a lathe to cut a hole to the hub diameter you need.

i thought about that.......i like the mickey t centercap but will it rust when they cut it and the chrome comes off?????

OffRoad 4x4 06-19-2006 08:24 PM

Probably will if left untreated....
You might try applying some POR 15 to the exposed surface.

Summit Racing does not have a center cap from Mickey Thompson that will fit the wheel with the hole already in it.

bimetal hole saw

Lone Ranger 93 06-20-2006 06:09 PM

my american racing wheels have the 2 open caps up front for the hubs, and they rust like crazy in the winter time, the wheels and centers are chromed steel

Redneckstone 06-20-2006 06:52 PM

use stock lugs with the snap on stock center caps with the holes that are chrome...problem solved...

INT3RC3PTOR 06-20-2006 07:19 PM

yup......but the TTB (twin traction beam) is extremely close to a solid axle, compared to the SLA front ends on the '98 and newer rangers....even with the automatic locking hubs i would need the open caps.......but i do have manual locking hubs.
