The reason I brought up the filler neck thing is cause in my 07 Subie it kept throwing a CEL and it had light surface rust on the top on the filler neck were the cap seals, hope it helps.

We'll see, I'm hoping to get to it tomorrow. The only problem is that it takes 2 hours running for the damn codes to come back if there are any.

Last weekend I took off the filler neck and cleaned the gas hose. I brought it back to the point where it was black again and you could read the OEM part number... It looked fine, I didn't see any evidence of cracking so I put it back on. Photos are before cleaning.

I did find this area on my filler that looked a bit funny. I don't think it is an issue at this time.

My bed bolts were being a ***** to get off and I snapped one of them, so I decided to do what I could with the bed on. Because of that, I wasn't able to get to really see what the vent line looked like because I didn't want to break it's connection to the gas tank.

Instead of 2 hours, it took about 5 hours of driving this time for my check engine light to come on again, it makes me wonder if I might have stumbled upon something. This weekend I am going to try to check the vacuum lines, but I'm worried about pulling them off of the "Y" connector if I have to. Is there any advice for trying to pull these apart?

Oh, and I found this too...
