Choosing bigger tire size for Ranger 16x7 Alloy Rims
So I have these rims with 245/75/r16 tires and because of these stupid metric measurements I'm not sure which tires will fit. I want somewhere around 31.5 inches but with these SAME RIMS (for now, because I REALLY need tires) is there some sort of size chart which will equal to that diameter but also fit these rims, does it HAVE to be 245/x/r16? Would any 265/75r16 tires fit these rims? And is 245/80r16 a thing? This metric crap is confusing.
You can run any 16" tires on your rims as long as they will clear suspension components and fenders during turns. Your referencing your whole tire measurements.
To read a tire size, look at the numbers and letters on the sidewall of the tire; the first set of numbers indicates the tire width in millimeters, followed by a slash mark, then the aspect ratio (a percentage of the tire's height compared to its width), a letter representing the construction type (usually "R" for radial), and finally the wheel diameter in inches that the tire fits on; for example, "P225/60R17" means a passenger car tire with a width of 225mm, an aspect ratio of 60%, radial construction, and designed for a 17-inch wheel.
