can you just cut the muffler off and call it good? Will it hurt anything?

with cats installed it doesn't sound that bad imo. at the higher RPM's its a bit raspy, but down low it sounds nice. it was too loud though so i went with a nice magnaflow straight through muffler.

Cut off the muffler. Put on glass-pack. Dump it out the side. Win.

Depends what motor you have. My 4.0 SOHC dumps right after the cat, I love the way it sounds. Down low it has a great rumble and after 3K gets loud and sounds kind of like a Mustang.

I would say just unbolt it as close to the cat as you can and see how you like it. If you don't like it just bolt it back on.
