STRANGE REQUEST: How to disable a Ranger???

I'm the fleet manager at work and one of our childish technicians absolutely refuses to switch into another truck. Due to his immature actions, I'm forced to try and secretly disable his truck tomorrow morning so that he's forced to swap into the other truck.

Keep in mind, I have to do this with the following considerations:
1] absolutely no harm done to the truck
2] cannot be easily seen so he can fix it and drive off.

The truck is a 2006-ish 2.3L. Is there a fuse that I can pull to make it inoperable?

Thanks

I would LOVE to fire his ***, but unfortunately, I don't have that capability and the two supervisors that handle all the techs are pussies when it comes to shyt like this. I've given both of them enough ammo to write him up time and time again, but they never do anything about it.

And then they wonder why these techs act the way they do.

The operations manager has asked me several times if I wanted to become the supervisor.
1] not enough pay to make it worth it
2] too many hours
3] we wouldn't have any techs once I finished firing all their pitiful asses.

I finally found the owner's manual online. I wasn't sure if it was the same setup for my '03 4.0 (it's not).

I can pull fuse #23 in the power distribution box under the hood...

Looks like the ----er will FINALLY swap into the truck I selected for him... the most shitty truck we've got that still runs.

Yeah.... I was trying to disable the fuel pump but didn't know there was a fuse. I only knew about the fuel pump shut off switch under the passenger side dash.

Fuse #23 from above is the fuel pump.

:-)

Just think. You need Fuel Air and Spark to run.
You could even unplug all the spark plug wires if you know he won't open the hood.

My favorite trick is to pull the radio fuse. You'd be surprised how mad people get when they can't listen to their radio during the day.

this is so true! you dont realize how valuable a radio is to you until you have to drive for a few days without one

I thought about the radio fuse, but I need him to switch.

Plus, the other truck is older, more miles, MUCH MORE WORN (torn seats, headliner peeling off, etc).

That will **** him off, but not as much as when he finds out that's his permanent truck. I'm sending his truck to another location after I fix it. He was complaining that the cap doors didn't lock. I gave him a new lock to replace the old and supposedly never told me it doesn't work under 3 months later. He tried to claim that he did tell me, but I'm really good with crap like that... Sorry, but since your freakin hardhat was taken out of your truck AND you didn't tell anyone that your cap lock didn't work still, you're **** OUT OF LUCK.

Sorry, I hate the ----er.

Why dont you just take the truck when he's not there. Take it to the other shop or wherever you're going to take it.

He will have no choice than to drive whats available.

Regarding your 1st sentence: You really don't read ANYTHING, do you. Go re-read the first post and you'll find you answer to that one.

Regarding your 2nd sentence: WTF are you talking about? I kinda understand you, but then again, I don't know WHY you're spouting random crap.

Didn't know you could unplug it that easily, but the fuel pump fuse was just as easy.

Three problems with this:
1) There's only one key to his truck
2) Some dumb asses leave their personal tools inside their trucks, so I can't just go inside a truck without them being present... otherwise they could easily claim that I stole their GPS, drill, test meter, etc. These people are a bunch of "HONEST" workers.
3) I plan on sending the truck to another satellite office... about 2.5 hours away. lol

I just GOTTA try this on my boss one day... he lives 2 hours away from the office. And if he needs to go to the other location, it takes him 3+ hours IIRC.

No radio for HOURS. lol

1. Have dog vomit on seat
2. Remove headliner
Either one would do it.

Seriously man...you'd plot to mess with a guy's lively hood ?!!

How am I messing with someone's lively hood? I need to have him switch to another truck in order to have this one fixed. The other truck is shitty in terms of looks. It still runs.

I'd figure out how to hook the horn up to the brake pedal, but that probably wouldn't solve anything.
