Coded Entry

Just a quick question, is there any way to find out what my code is to unlock the doors without asking the dealer? They wanted to charge me a fee to look it up so I thought Id try here first.

If it is the self-adhesive accessory keypad, there is no code necessary. Once the Central Security Module is programmed, the keypad is recognized by the CSM just like any Remote Keyless Entry fob.

For an 03, the 5-digit keypad code for a hardwired keypad is printed on the CSM label. That code is useless in a Ranger because the keypad feature is not enabled in Ranger CSMs at the end-of-line flash. Sport-Tracs use the same CSM for their keypad entry but they are made at a different plant and get a different flash.

Uh, no... It's a programmable keypad. Since the keypad is wireless, the CSM recognizes it as an RKE fob. When I said that it has no code, I meant that there is no code assigned to the truck itself.

I still don't know for sure what you're asking about. Is it the keypad entry or something else?

i also have a keypad question

i am new here and new to keypad entrys, i recently bought a 2004 ranger with a keypad the dealer ( not a ford dealer) where i bought the truck from does not know the code to unlock the door, so i went to my local ford dealer they hooked it up to the computer and the computer could not find the keypad code, after reading the other posts is it possible he looked for a csm and not for another fob, so in short were or how do i find the keypad code,
it does work because i can lock the doorsby pushing the 2 far right buttons,

On my moms F-150, I looked under the dash and on one of the computer box's, the label has the code on it. I dont know if its the same for a ranger though. It says in the owners manual that the code can be found on the computer unit. (for the f-150)

Way to dig up a 2 year old thread btw lol.

That's just for vehicles equipped with the keypad from the factory. Since this is an accessory for the Ranger, there will not be any code under the dash.

my keypad is not factory installed it has been installed by the original owner,
in my owners manual it says i can delete remote control transmitter ( keyfob and keypad ), it also tells me how to ad a remote controls, but it does not tell me how to enter a new code for the keypad, can anyone tell me how to enter the new code ,
thanks
