considering the sale of the Ranger....

I have had my eye on a new F150 FX2 for a little while now and am considering selling the Ranger. As you can see on my signature I have done quite a bit to it and it has been maticulously maintained (always Mobil 1 synthetic fluids), never abused, and only has 35,100 miles on it. Might be one of the cleanest Rangers you will see...even the underneath and engine compartment are still clean as can be. The interior is super clean also and it has never been smoked or eaten in so it doesn't stink...lol!! The Kelly Blue Book Private Party value on it is $13,250. It is paid off and I have a clean title for it. If I were to attempt to sell it as opposed to trading it in, what could I expect to get? I would throw in all the stock parts too including the stock 15" wheels and tires (75% tread left), grille, seats, corner lenses, speakers, and stock CD radio. It's a really nice truck and I love it but I have decided that it's time to start considering an upgrade in the near future. Check out the signature below for mods and let me know what you would ask for it.

The main reasons I am considering upgrading is that it would be nice to have the extra room to haul people and towing capacity for our boat. Not only that but I barely put 8-9 thousand miles a year on a vehicle so the difference in gas mileage wouldn't really affect me too much. It'll be a tight fit in the garage but it will go in.

Honestly, the mods will not increase the value all that much. The line-x and bed cover will add a little, but not enough to cover the money, time and energy you put into it.
I've been told by numerous used car dealers that the easiest and most preferred used vehicles to sell are bone stock.

I've heard the same. Thats why I am planning to try and sell it instead of trading it in. I can't help myself with nice mods...if I get a new F150, it'll be lucky to last a week or two with the stock exhaust!

Two things I noticed that are different since I took these pics...the '07 tails are on and the vent-visors are off.

I understand completely, I've put a lot of time/money into my own truck to make it just the way I want it. It just seems like some people think that they are going to get all their 'mod money' back when selling a vehicle.

Very nice looking truck btw.

Oh, I know...I don't expect to get much at all back. In fact, I would be better off slapping back on the stock wheels/tires, seats, radio, and other misc. stuff and selling them on here or on Ebay to make more money. I'm not returning it to stock height though either way. It is aligned perfectly and I threw out the OEM shocks. Plus it would just be too much work...lol! I'm actually considering leasing if I do get the new F150 since I drive so little mileage so I would be limited to what I could do to it. Window tint, cat-back exhaust, and maybe an air intake or some other minor bolt ons will be it for the next one. No suspension mods on that one!
