Coolant temp light?

Ive noticed a Light with a temp symbol thing on the dash lights when i turn it on does newer rangers have this instead of a actual temp needle? What temp sets it off? I noticed a gas cap light to but ive taken the cap off and it doesnt come on? Maybe it takes a bit?

not sure on the temp, but it should shut off when you start it, and no gauge on the newer rangers just an idiot light

Everything works fine guys the light go off after i start it but im just wondering what the temp light is for? Ill have to snap a pic of it, i think after 03 or 04 they dont have a oil pressure or a volt gauge so i was thinking maybe its just a light that goes off at a certain temp?
