I know alot of you dont like the global ranger coming out this year but here is a update on it anyway. Now that the ute models have been put to bed as far as design goes. There have been internal leaks from ford aus as well as some new test mules spotted here in aus of a wagon version of the ranger. The news is however that the wagon version will only be sold in selected markets where it wont compete with existing models e.g. india probably badged as a Endeavour and philipines/asia probably badged as a Everest. Also you may have seen it on the web already but the latest teaser from ford show a dual cab ranger towing a fully loaded steam train. Local mags report that ford aus did it to one up the VW Amarok which apparently vw towed a empty boeing 747 down a runway. Ford stated that the vehicle used was production ready and not modified in anyway. It had the six speed auto and was in low range. Ford also claim it was a better demo than vw's because the vw demo was done on a flat high grip surface where ford was done in shunting yards on a uneven surface with some gravel.
