CrewCab Ranger

I just got back from mexico, and while I was down there, I had seen these quad cab rangers every where. I was amazed. I seen them in the '97 body style to the current body style. I loved the way they looked. I noticed on like the '01 style and up that they all had the black background head lights. I noticed on some that the headlight and the corner lights were one piece. I seen the black headlights on the internet a lot but if they come stock on those rangers then why they so flippin expensive on the net. Another thing I noticed was on the '06 style, with the different looking taillights than whats on my '02, is that they were a darker tinted looking red and thought that was relly good looking. I've been want to get my hands on some '06 taillights but now I want these darker ones. I wonder if anyone else has seen this before?!

I believe it's a 2.5L diesel for '07. At least in the "European Edition". And keep in mind too that those double cab models only have 5' beds.

Shoot, I'll take both the headlights and tail lights for mine! Oh and that 3.0L powerstroke would do just as well!

The European model is built on a completely different platform from the one sold in South America, which would explain the different displacements.

Rangers sold in North America, Central America, and most of South America share a common platform developed by Ford. Of course there are a lot of differences between the trucks, but the frame and most other components are shared.

Rangers sold in Asia, Europe, Austrailia, etc... share a platform designed in the mid '90s as a joint venture project between Ford and Mazda. They are often called "Thai Rangers," since the primary plant that produces them is in Thailand and that is where most of them are sold.

The european ranger is built on a Mitsubishi's L200(market leader)
The engine is a 2.5-litre Duratorq TDCi (143 PS)

Built in Thailand, it says also. So the Ranger reviewed in the article isn't the South American version that pacodiablo posted about. Which leads to the big question...

...does anybody even know which model Ford intends to bring "over here" to NA as the new Ranger sometime in '10? Details? Sources? Links?
