Toys/Projects

So I replaced my Ranger with the "old" family commuter car....my moms 2006 Suzuki Reno. If you want a laugh it looks like this:
http://imganuncios.mitula.net/2007_s...1947931588.jpg
But hey it was FREE, it's only got 70k and it get 25MPGs or more if you drive normal. Unfortunately it's an autotragic.

SO, I will be doing some minor modifications to it (tinted tails, might lower the high rear end, black rims, tint, sound system, maybe some carbon fiber in places, vinyl graphics down the side). But for the most part I don't want to put much into it.

I will be going on a 3 month patrol in a few weeks and when I get back I should have a few grand to throw around. I need a project/toy. But I can't decide if I want to get back into another truck or get something fast. I'm looking at 5.0 LX Mustangs, 76-79 F250/F350s, 70/80s K5 Blazers, 70s/80s K1500/2500/3500s, Maybe 90s F250/F350s, 70s Broncos, and old muscle cars.

I have a huge range of different vehicles I'm looking at and it will mostly be what "pops" out at me as a good deal in the local area come June when I get home. My price range will be like $6k or so. Depends on condition.

So what types of vehicles would you be looking at if you were in my situation?

I guess it doesn't matter, just an early 90s 5.0.

I saw a nice red one for sale down the road. Again....bad timing lol

But I see 70s F150/F250 for sale around here all the time. The bodies are always in good condition, they are generally lifted for mudding, and the engines are rebuilt. I've seen a few. That's what I leaning towards now.

If I wanted a toy, it would be an old Ford truck. At one time I had about 3 projects around here but had to sell them all for tuition.

Lx is notchback without all the crappy ground effects. Less options and quite a bit lighter. I love the lx's...Not all of them come 5.0, but a lot do.

If I'm in a 5.0 I don't need options. Just role the windows down, listen to the engine and cruise/or smash around. either way. lol

70-79 Fords are my absolute favorite vehicles. I only have 2 right now, but I plan on getting more.

I love them despite only getting about 7 MPG's.

Sexxxxy. The only thing that holds me back from a 5.0 Notchback is the insurance. An old truck would be much cheaper.

That is a 78 or 79. Not 76-77. My trucks are both 77

76-77

73-75

I always say my next truck will be a 76-77, but then I get to looking at craigslist. Basically anything 1964-2002 Ford will be my next vehicle. Really starting to want an 86 F-2/350 with 6.9l and 4 speed.

Why not just get a 4cyl then swap it? They are cheaper to buy and easy to swap over. Plus they are still in the insurance system of being just a 4cyl. :-)

My fav bodystyle old fords trucks were 58-60. mmmmm way sexier.

Perfect truck down below.

The original 20's! Other that horse and buggy. lol Wheel tire combo is awesome though. I had a neighbor that had the cleanest 59 I've ever seen in person. Looked just like this one. I think his was lifted. I'm 100% sure because I was like 10. So it might have been stock height.lol Either way it was ****.
