Curise Control Button Removal
My grandfather has a '96 Mazda B4000. almost the same interior as my '01. His Cruise control buttons are cracked, broken and don't work anymore. How does one go about replacing them? Thanks for the help. Pictures are good too.

Haven't a clue myself, but maybe if you remove the horn cover the screws might be under that on the inside of the steering wheel?
|
just the button? or the whole assembly? My moms Mustang broke one a while back and i replaced it by using a pick to feel around for two tabs that held it into place. I carefully used the pick to release the tabs and it just popped off. But that was the rocker part of the bumper alone. the assembly would be held into place from under the airbag and ya gotta pull all that off.

Are there screws in the back of the steering wheel to remove the airbag?
|
yeah if you look around there will be a couple of bolts. not sure on each year, but there might be some plugs that block access to the holes, so check for that too.
Disconnect the battery before pulling the airbag off. If it goes boom, its gonna suck. |
Yes. On yours remove the two popins and take out the screws. Then the airbag.
