Dash BRAKE light after Add A Leaf

I haven't had any luck with this, but after 3 months of doing an Add A Leaf, my BRAKE light on the dash has been on. Everything works as normal as far as I can tell, and the dash light never came on before the Add A Leaf.

Is it possible the Add A Leaf has put extra tension on the brake cable due to the minor lift height I got? Or did I do something wrong?

Thanks for your help!

Brake Light comes on for two reasons, Parking brake pedal is not up all the way, or brake fluid is low in the Master

Pull parking brake release and lift pedal up with your foot, see if it can be moved up, the switch/sensor for this is on the pedal bracket, there is nothing in the rear of the truck for this circuit

Low brake fluid, check it, also unplug the wire connector on the master and make sure it is clean and dry inside, i.e. bad connection issue

Thank you!

I found out the my emergency brake pedal wasn't fully releasing, meaning it was never hitting that switch/sensor.

But now I realize I have way too much cable slack underneath... If I hit a bump, the emergency brake pedal will wiggle and cause the BRAKE light to flash on the dash.

Any good way to tighten/adjust cable slack?

Thank you!

Yes, hold out the release and pump the parking brake pedal until it gets tight.

You can't over-tighten parking brake cable so pump it until its tight

If its still not coming up all the way then there may be an issue in the pedal assemble, or the cable has stretched

Look under truck on drivers side for the parking brake cable, it with connect to 2 cables, one for each rear wheel
There may be an adjuster there to tighten the single cable running to the pedal assembly

If not you can use a "universal" cable tightener, seen here: https://www.cherokeeforum.com/attach...e-adjuster.jpg
Or get a new non-stretched out cable
