Selling Ranger..

Well I have finnally made the decsion to sell the ranger.. for all the stuff i want to do with the truck it's not worth the aggravation and money when its only a 3.0.. i want something newer with the 4.0 in it, the 3.0 is fine and all but i want something with more power.. anyways i put a 'FOR SALE' sign up in the windshield and hopefully someone will decide to take a look at it and hopefully buy it. i washed it best i could today and got some of the surface rust off it. Hopefully i can get at least a 1998 or newer ranger with the 4.0 sohc either 5 speed or auto makes no difference really... OR an f-150 with a v-8..so if anyone has some input on how to really get my truck out of my yard lol let me know some tricks of the trade.. (for the people who have seen my truck, i dont think it looks to bad for a 13 year old truck). Oh and im selling it for $2,800 it has the flowmaster exhaust (322 bucks just put it on in feb) visor, cap the tires/rims cost around 700 bucks which only have 10 months of use on them so they are practically new.

edit: forgot to mention it has 114,xxx miles on it you think im selling it at a fair price?

The SOHC 4.0 wasn't in the Ranger until 2001. I have one with a 5 speed and love it BTW....

I had a 96 F-150 4x4 with a 5.0 and that thing had no ***** and would always downshift on the freeway. I love the power in my 4.0 Ranger so much more then the 5.0. If I was looking for another 1992-1996 f-150, I would get the 300 I-6. The 300 may be the best motor Ford ever built. If you want a 97 - newer F-150, the 5.4 is really what you want.

Yeah OHV ended in 2000. Honestly, I have had no trouble with my 4.0 SOHC and have 72K on her now. This is my first Ford and so far i am impressed. Good luck with whatever you do...

To sell your truck, instead of just leaving it in your front yard with a for sale sign, have someone go with you and drop it off in a high traffic area of town. IE shopping center, on a busy street etc.

If that dosnt get it sold fast, then you can always put it in auto trader. :)

EDIT: and you can also put it on craigslist...which is a good option since its free!

I get so tired of people on here and other sites telling people to buy a F*ckin toyota, how the hell did Toyota brain wash so many people? It makes me sick. When I was younger I was always GM or nothing, buy GM they're the best. Now its Like Buy Ford, GM, Dodge, but buy American for christ sake!!!

I think you should go with a 3.0, just newer model... you could just go to dealership buy one new... and you can custom build your own...

get what YOU want. not want anyone else wants you to get. its your hard earned money,

I recommend a 2001-newer Ranger. its when Ford really got the Ranger right. or if want an F150, I would get a 96-newer. the 95-older seem to have an issue with rusting. its rare for me too see an F150 of that vintage without any rust.

nah im not getting another 3.0.. i dont really want toyota anyways.. i will only buy ford. problem is i need to get a job, i got 400 bucks in my pocket right now and if i sell the ranger for 2,800 bucks ill have 3200 to play around with. the new rangers are like 10,000-25,000 in that range. i would like a 98 because its a different look from the 93-97's. so 98 would be perfect.. i cant find any good deals around here and i live where there is a lot of salt so most of the stuff is kind of rusted due to people not caring about their vehicles. and yeah i am going to put the truck in a busy town pretty soon.. i had someone look at it today and he didnt seem really interested, maybe he was i dont know he asked how much told him 2,800 and told him only 114,xxx miles. he said he was gonna think on it and i told him to call me. (hes my neighbor) the truck he has is a rusted nissan that looks/runs like junk.. im hoping he will buy it. anyone else with some suggestions?? i think 2,800 is a good price considering the stuff i put on it.

What are you talking about, they werent American, they are now (again). Mercedes is German, so that made Chrysler German, but Mercedes doesn't own them anymore.

Glad to hear that you want another Ranger. I see allot of rangers from the year you are looking at here in Michigan and we have plenty of salt. Keep looking, I am sure you can find one that fits your liking. 4.0 is the way to go btw, good choice.

98-99 sounds good, go for the xlt or sport, I think they made a trialhead edition that had a t-bar setup in front... might be 2000 model not sure...

10-15K aroung here (Michigan)

Edit: I was under the assumption that you would finance the rest. You wont be able to find the year ranger you are looking for in the price range you are willing to spend.

Should have more, I had a blazer just like your moms Bravada before my ranger and my truck is much faster. I do however have a 2wd stick, so its pretty quick.
