I have a 2001 Ranger Edge and am looking at a new one. Not letting the old one go, but need something to take some of the miles off of it. I am considering a 2025 Ruby Red Ranger XLT Sport 4x4, with 2.3L, 10-speed trans, and XLT High 301A. Would appreciate any comments regarding the newer Ranger, good, bad, and ugly.

 

My wife got a new 2024 Lariat FX4 with the 2.3 engine. It's silver and black. One thing I'd suggest you get if possible is the built in step in the side of the bed. Hers is the 500A group. Unless the Ranger is different than the F150, the exterior key pad is a $455.00 option. It's no longer a feature, but an option. It has the 3:73 rear end. It's a nice truck. Traded off a 2008 FORD Sport Trac Limited for it during the employee pricing month. So far no regrets !!!! It has 2,300 miles on it.

Its averaging 22-24 mpg

 

I ordered one and my projected build date is 9/29/2025. Oxford White, XLT, 301A, 2.7, FX4, advanced trailer tow package, spray in bed liner, bed steps and no running boards. After driving both the 2.3 and the 2.7 there was no way I could not get the 2.7, I felt the difference even in the parking lot. Nobody within 1,000 miles had exactly what I wanted so I ordered it.
