in deep trouble..
I need to know if my truck can pass a safety as it is. With a custom suspension does it mean it can't? Or do they look for more general safety issues? Ford is just about ready to screw me over and I need this truck to pass a safety or I dont know what I will do..
In ontario as far as I know there aren't any lift laws so I can't see how you wouldn't pass safety..
I really hope so, they threw in a bunch of bs into my buyout and its literally going to screw me sideways unless there is a way to talk around what they are asking of me. But I really got gouged in the wallet on this truck. But I just hope I have a truck to drive after the dust subtles
why would you go to ford for an inspection?
Long story short, my truck is almost paid off, I made a huge mistake to lease to own because I was informed it was the same as financing except there was an option to not keep the vehicle at the end. and they are now asking me a ridiculous buyout amount of 8500! and it must be safetied and e tested before it can leave Ford and be truly mine. I'm almost sick that I was tricked so bad!
Tell them they can buy it back from you for $15,000

Thats how a lease works. Small monthly payments and a balloon payment at the end. You should have been more aware of the situation, unfortunately.

Wow... that sucks. I'm really sorry to year about the situation. I hope everything works out well for ya.
It should say in your agreement the price for the buyout. That price is in there at the time you sign the lease payment contract. And 8500 does not sound like a bad price for a 2008.
I think you can just call ford motor credit an tell them you want to buy the truck and they will mail you the papers without going thru your dealer.
Not sure if there's much you can do with the rest of it... but I've never heard of anything against those modifications passing a safety here. I guess it would all depend on the tech as well but I would bet that as long as what's there is safe you should be good to go.
Problem is that its a lease and if you turn it back in they want it stock. They can nail you for every nick, stain and scratch.

and i had every intention of keeping it since the first week i had it, endless modifications later and there is no way ford would ever want to take it back. as it has become quite a unique pickup. hopefully im not stuck with a $40000 invested paperweight after the safety. but time will tell.. who knows, i may end up posting it up for sale soon after i buy it out, just to help recover from that bite in the a$$.. offers? ;) |
I feel a de-modding looming in the distance.
I'm getting in line |
It's not possible that you did not see the lease paperwork, which gave all the details. You had to have signed it. If you did not read it then that's a different story.
more of a posible de-trucking, nice weather around here lately, kinda makes me wanna ride my bike more lol..
i'm not sure why you would do such modifcations on a LEASE to own, it won't really be yours untill that final payment, so tech you modded a truck that could end up not being yours. sorry if your out that money, but you did sign a lease then mod it hardcore.

thinking back, i cant actually recall ever recieving a copy of the agreement, and all they ever gave me for a buyout was a quote from 4-5 thousand. i never had a paper stating the final numbers. i just never imagined a $21000 ranger leased over 4 years @ $408.60/month would end up costing me closer to $30000 out and done. i can guarante that no more new vehicle purchases are in my near future lol..

If you've got the lease agreement, read that sucker now. if someone put it in writing on that piece of paper that your quote was say 4500, and you signed it, then they can't charge you a nickel over that. currently going thru the same situation sort of with my dads RAM lease, he leased it from a dealer near us, and they closed, so when we went to turn the truck back in at a different dealer, they claimed they didn't have to honor the agreement and tried to screw us for some of the things we didn't agree to. |
Thanks for the tip I'm going to check into this

there is only a few lift laws i know of in ontario one is cant have more then 14inch lift , and tires can only stick out so much , u cant cut any brackets off frame and move them to new spot
