Diesel Ranger

I know they made diesel ranger/still make them in other countries but has anyone even installed a Cummins, or a CAT 4cyl in a ranger before?

Just courious. I thought it would be cool someday to have a ranger to take to diesel shows and blow the doors off some cummins fans.

I havn't seen any ranger diesel swaps......but I have seen a TJ and a YJ with a 4cyl cummins turbo in it. The YJ gets about 22mpg in the city.

I know I have seen pics of a 1991-1994 Explorer that had a I4 Cummins swapped in.

The I4 Cummins is standard equipment in Ford Super Duties in some other markets (South America, probably others).

that would be the ultimate matchup - mid 20s mpgs and a turbo with lots of torque.

heh thought so, my mb is currently being driven by my son so i'm not on those 2 sites a lot anymore..

i have a ranger now so i'm here

kinda miss the old 617 diesel powerplant though. they were a great design. i imagine hooking one of those up into a ranger body would be awesome.
