maintenance

Ok it's that time again for some tune up related stuff. I have noticed for the past 3-5 months that my truck has been very "rough" upon starting up. When you look at the engine it almost seems as if it shakes every few seconds. It is similar to when you aren't giving it enough gas with a stick shift.

Second tuning, when I turn my wheel i think about one rotation in either direction is makes an audible squeaking type noise, what could this be? I've had the ball joints replaced less than 6 months ago.

I'm willing to change whatever fluids may cause this or not so major parts. I have already put in properly gapped plugs, new transmission fluid, and an oil change.

how many miles do you have?? thats important for us to no
and ball joints wont cause a noise when turning
where is the noise comming from? the suspension or the engine? it could be the belt or the tie rods

The noise is occurring when I turn my wheel. I can't figure out exactly where it is coming from but it is in front of me(obviously). It sounds like rubbing of something that should be lubricated.

I have almost 60k miles

Fords are known for having a noisy power steering pump......that is most likely what your noise is..........

as far as your rough starting, change your plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, air filter, oil, and oil filter........the plugs and wires will probably solve your rough starting...

Plugs are basically brand new. Would the wires really matter that much? Is there a brand that is better than the rest in terms of wires?

I took it out for a spin after I replied so that I could zone in on the problem and I realized I can feel the slight vibration when there is noise on the pedal that my foot is on, whether it is gas or brake. Should I change the steering fluid?

drain the old fluid and put some good fresh fluid in there and it quiets right down.

yea I just read a couple threads with help of the ol' search. I guess I need to flush it and I'll refill with synthetic mercon atf fluid.... right?

Now it's on to fix my rough engine, would seafoam help?
