SO I did the torsion bar crank....

Its been crappy weather here. So I got bored and cranked my torsion bars. I have an 2004 4x4 with 102 k on it. I marked the positions of the bolts and did three full cranks on each side. I still have alot more bolt left. After measurements, I gained .5" on the passenger side, and .35" on the drivers side. The questions: Should I crank the drivers side more to compensate for the difference in height or leave it as is?

As a side note the truck goes straight down the road, no pulling and actually handles better in the front end, feels less spongy.

I would but it's up to you. The more you go up the crappier the rode and more likely will need an alignment.

So I should crank the driver side more than the passengers? As they are, each bolt is exactly relative to the previous position. Just three turns up. As far as alignment goes: It drives straight down the road, I'd hate to burn $60 bucks just for them to tell me the alignment is fine. Has anybody out there done the torsion bar crank with no averse effects to the alignment?

Wirelessly posted

Mine are maxed out with shackles and it rides like garbage. Most places check the alignment for 15 bux and if you need one its 45

i would stay away from cranking your t bars. uneven tire wear for an inch or two doesnt seem worth it to me.

Yeah, when I cranked my bars my suspension held its alignment, however, I definitely recommend at least getting it checked after you crank them.
