door ajar?
Well i was driving my ranger around today, got out then got back in and it said my door was ajar, i got out closed both doors and it was still saying its ajar? Its really humid and pretty hot out today could it be saying that just because the door thing is just hot? .. thanks :irked:

Spray WD-40 through the door latch mechanism. That's where the switch is.
that happend to me in the winter it eventualy shut off while i was driving im assuming the switch was just frozen
i've learned to ignore mine. it will chime a few minutes after i get it, and go off.
Ya mine did this for awhile too but corrected itself. Sometimes it just gets confused.
Just spray some wd-40 in the latches and it will fix it
it was just becasue it was hot outside, its gone now but ill spray some wd40 in there anyways to prevent it..

Instead of WD-40 try white lithium grease. It even comes in a spray can now. I tried some off-brand WD-40 type "all purpose spray lube" first...it fixed the problem for a few days then it came back. I sprayed some white lithium spray lube on there a couple weeks ago and it seems to have fixed it permanently. Here's the stuff I bought...it was pretty cheap at AutoZone:

my truck was doing the same thing. i tryed everything and nothing fixed it, eventually i had to get my happy ass outside and change out the switch. good thing im a smart girl otherwise i woulda had to listin to that stupid chime everytime i went over a bump. it was a pain in the butt to get to but its all fixed now.
mine has done this for about two years and it will do it when i hit bumps also it drives me crazy, sothe wd-40 will work i will have to give that a shot.
i was out of WD-40 so i used some "all purpose" silicone spray, it fixed the door ajar-ed?
another trick i have found (for you ranger owners who live in snowy climates) you can spray silicone spray around the door seals (weatherstripping) so it wont freeze to its self and not open... |
I tired everything on mine and still ended up tryiy replacing them, looks like i simple job, but nothing ever goes as it looks, i finally got pissed off at it and well they are in a box in my shop now, waste of 30 bucks...
