Doors coming open?

I tried searching for this and found no results for the issue I'm experiencing, so I hope it's not been discussed to death and I'm just using the wrong keywords.

I now have a Supercab and have noticed sometimes, especially when going over hard bumps or around hard turns, that the dome light will come on and the 'door ajar' signal will buzz/light up. If I slam all 4 doors real good it's not as prominant of an issue so I'm just assuming it's because there is no b-pillar in place to latch on to for stability. I don't know if it is a safety issue, but it is a little disquieting.

Is this a common occurance or is my truck just worn out? Is there something that I can adjust to prevent this?

Thank you for any assistance/insight. Again, I apologize for my oversight if there are existing discussions for this incident.

Open the driver's door , in the area of the latch on the door itself spray WD40 into the latch. The switch for the dome light is inside the door and a known problem child.

i had a problem where if i didnt basically slam my rear doors closed sometimes either the top or bottom latch would not catch proper and i could hear the doors shaking and wat not. i always just make a point to dbl check that the rear doors are infact latched proper top and bottom after i close them just by shaking them. but ive never had a "door ajar" light or dome light issue like that.

Yeah I would start looking at the sensors. When they get dirty or worn they can read incorrectly. Cleaning them might fix it but they may have to be replaced as well.

i do this too. if i can sense it's not tight, i redo it. once in a while i get the dinger and light show but most times i prevent it.

i always make em do it before we roll out. even my girl can tell when it's not closed properly and she redoes it before i say anything.

Mine did it when it was new, doesn't seem to do it much (if at all) any more. I just thought the doors were too tight and needed a quick break-in period. LR

Dude you're lucky you don't live in a northern state. In the winter the sensors don't work very well so when i hit bumps or go around corners i sometimes have to reshut all 4 doors(although you can usually narrow it to two by what direction you're turning). I should try to WD-40 them.

Lol, I don't let my friends open the rear doors for that reason. Sometimes I can get them adjusted and with DW40 they will close perfectly, but that never lasts long.

I've been lucky to only have that happen every now and then, but I always make sure to slam them.
