Feather the gas, don't happer down...
Give 6-7 times more braking room than normal,
Take your time, don't get distracted by the cell phone, radio, etc.
Also, if you start to slide, let off the gas, clutch or put the truck in neutral, and slow movements to correct yourself. When turning, keep the tread of the tires running so the tread can still bite.

momentum is your friend. 2wd snow drifting FTW! gettin' crazy looks from hippies when i'm still in 2wd FTW!
no...serious....take your time. Weigh your *** end down some using sandbags or gravel bags. Drive only as fast as you feel comfortable. Dont let anyone make you speed up even if they are on your butt. Smooth adjustments of the wheel are key.

We have 5 month winters! And this city doesn't believe in snow plows! Its fun but can be scary when you get yourself in a sh*tty situation! Biggest thing is look ahead,, keep a clear path in your sights and always have a way out! SLOW DOWN! double distance with car ahead of you! SANDBAGS OVER REAR AXLE!! Keep off the gas! Feather and pump it just below the point where it spins! If your rear wheels break loose in a turn your gong to spin!!
Best thing you can do is find some empty open road or empty parking lot if possible where you cant do any damage and make see what your truck can do! push it to the point you do spin out so you know your limits!
good luck

Its fun when you get good at it. As long as your not stupid and putting other people/vehicles at risk! No matter what you do lose it beyond recovery sometimes.. My front valance is missing for a reason,, and that passenger side fender is fender#2..
And watch for black ice, even tho the road might look clean there could be a thin layer of ice! I did a 100k 360 on the freeway one day! Didn't hit anything but it SUCKED!! not a fun situation!

lol. You know, it's funny while half of the world says "lockers are unsafe in snow!" but I loved being locked in snow. You can do some wicked drifting with really good control!
