DUAL EXHAUST

hey guys i need some help

i would like to put dual exhaust on my baby but i have a couple of questions

1 would it be good to remove the factory y joint and but 2 pipes leading from the cats straight back

2 or would it be beter to put y joint before my exisiting muffler and cut across to put a second muffler

3 any more advice would be awsome

thank you in advanced

Just get a muffler with a single inlet and dual outlet, its simpler.

Are true duals even possible with the way the cats and O2 sensors are set up?

its kinda of pointless on a 6cylinder to go true dual performance wise.. if you want a real performing exhaust.. you would go from the header and go down to 1 high flow cat and a do a full 3 inch to a dual in single exit muffler.

Its hard to fit true duals under a Ranger anyway. Kind of pointless as well.

Just go with a single inlet dual outlet muffler

That depends on the car, on a ranger with a stock motor - yes.

to the OP, what are you trying to do? I mean why do you want to do this?

A v-6 doesnt have a muscle car sound.

/thread

Jp7 - I guess if we are talking a forced induction v-6 or I-6 yes a true dual would or something very high output and modified yes. But even a heavily modified ranger would do good on a single outlet full 3 inch system with a high flow cat imo. My E30 BMW is like this with a true dual system stock but its a different beast all together.

Just get a magnaflow muffler and call it a day..

Why a glass pack? Get a 2in single inlet to a 2 1/2 inch dual outlet muffler from either flowmaster or magnaflow.

vatozone carries magnaflow and everywhere has those.. magnaflow is one of the best sounding on our trucks.. glasspacks sound like a ricer but whatever.

Then just go with glasspacks, I don't know what your still asking. Any decent exhaust shop can put them on for you, why you would want to I don't know.

You'll never get muscle car sound out of a Ranger without a motor swap first.
