Dyno App for iPhone. Does it work?

I personally think it sounds like crap giving you power outputs and such. I can see the 0-60 times and thing like that but i was wondering has anyone ever tried the App to see if it truly works the way they claim. I know it has been featured in a couple magazines and such but i was wondering if anyone who is not trying to sell the $12.99 app has used it with satisfaction.

Theres a few that have a wireless sensor that plugs into your OBDII port that work. The sensor normally costs 180-250 though.

The way that one works is off the accelerometer. You come to a stop, set the phone down on something and then it sense your movement and starts tracking time then.

Now I don't think theres an app that actually will tune the truck. It more works like a scangauge showing trans temp, oil temp, speed, RPMs, stuff like that.

Gotcha just a more expensive scanguage...

From some of the things ive read about this app was that you have to input the exact weight of the vehicle in order for it to calculate some of the stuff correctly

Not worth the money at all, before the apps started charging large amounts and most of them were free I tried it. 75% of the time it wouldn't work and 25% of the time it said I had a huge amount of horse power or none at all.

something was wrong with how the phone was sitting, or the data entered...

i used that one, there is another app also that does the same, but works a little better... the numbers i got were pretty accurate, they use the same principals as the g-tech pro, they do NOT work if you try it going up or down a hill, as this throws off the acceleration to be a much higher number (up a hill) or lower number (down a hill)

My buddy Matt has a iphone he was telling me he got that app me my self did not think a phone could do that but we tested it out on a long flat road in his 03gt mustang it said he had 270 hp but far as i know it dose not tell the TQ but i did not really look in to it to much so it mite?..it shows a graph on hp all the way threw a 1/4 mile i belive it said his 0 to 60 was 7.1sec which i guess is kinda accurate all his car has is a intake an cat back H-pipe an flowmasters. i belive the phone has to be laid flat as possible an not able to move to also be accurate.

I have this app, weighed in the car/truck, typed in everyting properly, went over all the procedures and apparently my truck has 100-400hp and the viper has roughly 900-1500hp. I get totally random numbers on each run whcih are highly inaccurate
