Ebrake adjustment?

I searched last night and found a post of someone saying that you can adjust the ebrake by playing with a bolt that is on the ebrake pedal mounting bracket? Is this true? I saw the bolt but I don't know what it will do if i play with it. Its a small gold bolt, maybe like a 5mm or so....

The brakes shoes are self adjusting for lining wear.

The p-brake pedal mechanism is self adjusting for cable stretch. At least that's how it is in my 2003 and I believe yours is the same.

If the p-brake isn't working well, my first suspects would be a frozen starwheel adjuster or severely worn brakes. It could also be the pedal self adjuster mechanism.

well i just replaced the self adjusting springs inside both drums because they were both snapped. pbrake doesn't work at all. The kit did come with new starwheel adjusters but they didn't look like they needed to be replaced.

Have you tried backing up and hitting the brakes a few times? That should activate the self adjusters and bring the shoes out.

Another idea. The starwheel adjusters have opposite threads left and right. If they get mixed up, the self adjusters will bring the shoes in instead of out.

And this. If you reach under the truck and pull the p-brake cable down, do the inner cables move inside the outer cables back at the rear brakes? It is possible for them to rust up solid over time.

Bob, i walked Pedro (99offroadrngr) through the adjusting process when he replaced the cables so the rear brakes should be adjusted properly

I'll have to soak them up in brake cleaner, let it air dry and try again. I'll try the reverse trick tomorrow at some point.
