IM not sure if my truckis an edge or not. I never had even heard about the edge generation until i did my first mod which was a grille and relized the regular kind didnt fit and i had to order the edge one. But the emblems on the side say Xlt. Im confused dont really knoew what to think. Tell me whats up.

Do you have pictures? Is it 4 wheel drive? Judging by your signature, it sounds like either a 2wd Edge or a 4wd xlt or edge.

 

If they say XLT, then it's most likely an XLT and not an Edge unless a previous owner replaced the regular "Ranger" emblem with one that has XLT on it. Also, XLT 2wd's have coil spring suspension, XLT 4wd's have torsion suspension. EDIT: ok just read your sig "cranked tbars".. I vote XLT 4x4 if you have the emblems, but like I said, you never know.

 

Look in the back under the leaf springs, if theres a 2" lift block there between the leaf spring and the axle tube its a Edge. Thats if its not 4x4 at least.

 

here are some pictures. it is a 4 wheel drive. I had the emblems replaced my self but im pretty sure they said XLT previously and i have no idea about the person before me. But if it is an XLt then whats with the edge grille???

 

i would say no. the edge models have the grayish bed rail caps that come stock i believe. the bumper is also different on the edge. my money is on an XLT.

 

I'm pretty sure the edges had the color matched front bumpers

XLT 4x4 for sure. The XLT 4x4's shared the same grille as the Edge models.

Yes, that is an XLT, and thats a standard XLT front end too.. looks just like my own front end.

well just to let ya"ll know i painted by bumper black. it used to be grayish if that changes your minds. other wise i go with Xlt

 

if its smooth its an edge bumper if its textured its an XLT bumper

 

If it was white before, that would change minds, but since it is gray, it is for sure a 4wd XLT.

thanks trent. im not a big fan of the black plastic/chrome bumper on the B4000. and since my frame is getting fixed i can look into more mods...........like a new bumper :)

 

Your truck is DEFINATELY an 01-03 XLT 4x4. Any grille that will fit an 01-03 EDGE(regardless of drivetrain) will fit your truck because ALL 4x4s(except XL) had the same grille.

More Reasons that's it's an XLT...
-NO FLARES...and no holes on fenders if there were flares
-Silver metallic paint(no edge came like that)
-Chrome bumpers
-textured valence

its a XLT VALUE package no flares looks like the guy replaced the valance it should have had no fogs and i'll bet its a 4.0L auto

 

So an 01-03 XL 4x4 would have the traditional grille. That is so odd. Anybody have a pic?
