how can i tell if my truck has a egr on it?

What is egr...

 

Look on your exhaust manifolds.....if there's a pipe coming out of one, back into the motor, you have EGR....

It should also say on your window sticker....

 

Exhaust Gas Recirculation....

2002+ don't have it.....

got ya i'm an idiot...i'm at work and really tired...not thinking straight. yeah i got it new and i still got the sticker.....

The "tube" coming out of the header will have the same basic appearance as an Oxygen sensor....

thinking about it. havent really made up my mind yet. want a new exhuast, wheels, ect. so just havent decided what i want first...

 

According to the sketchy documentation I have,

2.3L still has EGR
3.0L no EGR on 2002+
4.0L no EGR on 2003 only

Check the emission compliance label on the radiator bulkhead for the final answer. If your truck has EGR, it will say so on the label.

the all knowing bob!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'll have to do that. i havent driven my truck in about a week. it sits at the appartment with a cover on it. between gas prices and everything i'd rather just drive it on nice weekends and drive ashlees car to work and stuff. i'm gonna break it out tommorrow cause tomm. starts my weekend, plus i just love driving it.

 

awesome info! I had the same question about my 2003 ranger w/ the 4.0 - anybody have JBA Headers on their ranger?

 

I have an 03 4.0L with JBA's and no EGR.
