Thread number 78597348978680957948758973959540937890.84378975347 894 about electric Rangers. Yes they were made and yes they suck.

kyledm18 02-25-2009 12:47 PM

jtslmn720 02-25-2009 12:48 PM

Redneckstone 02-25-2009 12:48 PM

there neet not very man of them left they where crushed by ford if they get there hands on it

whippersnapper02 02-25-2009 12:50 PM

If I had unlimited money I'd buy it and make it fast.

karrbass4life 02-25-2009 12:50 PM

I'd buy one for sh!ts and giggles. The Adverage daily commute for an American citizen is around 50 miles a day. I'm lucky to get 30 miles per day.

It's not worth the price their asking, you see a few on ebay once and awhile. I know there are a few companies that rebuild these things.

dumb i couldnt even drive to school with that thing

IanSouth 02-25-2009 01:10 PM

We used to work on those at Varsity Ford. We had this god awful huge hydraulic lift table just to get the batteries out of them. Someone should write that dude and tell him he's an ******* for asking $30k for the P.O.S.

rngprerunner 02-25-2009 01:21 PM

I got to drive one a few years back, I didn't think it was all that bad. Had decent get up and go for an early electric vehicle.

RangerMuse 02-25-2009 01:25 PM

Asking way to much for what it is, but to each his own

I remember a popular mechanics for kids when they did a show on the electric rangers... Pretty neat I think, and the 60miles would be fine for me.

Yeah they pop up on ebay from time to time and they always seem to want around 30k for them.

02oregonedge+ 02-25-2009 02:15 PM

Cool truck, Too expensive though...

schatten789 02-25-2009 02:17 PM

Why did ford crush all the ones they could?

0RangerEdge2 02-25-2009 03:40 PM

Why not make one cheaper? Cool nonetheless.

Who knows.

Ford leased all of them when they were new. When Ford wanted them back, and the people leasing them found out they would be crushed, there were actually protests at some California dealers. Finally, Ford let people buy the trucks back, but not before they had already destroyed a good number of them.

They're certainly not for everybody, but they definitely have a loyal and dedicated following.
