Electrical plug is for what????

As I was cleaning my truck, I came across an electrical plug with cover hidden behind the front bumper. What is this for? It's a 3 prong normal electrical plug.

That is for the block heater.

In one of the core holes(freeze plug hole) there will be a heating element, if you use an extension cord and plug it into house power(110vAC), the block(coolant and oil) will stay warmer in winter months.
This allows for faster starts and heater working faster.

I see, I thought my truck is a hybrid one. 😞😊

Maybe not, if the truck was sold on cold states then maybe it's an option.

I know that in Canada, the block heater is an option, so i'd guess that it was not Standard down in the states
