The 5R55E 5-speed auto became available for 4.0s in 1997. The whole line got 5-speed autos from 2002 on (5R44E and 5R55E).

Nope, not since 97. 98 they introduced the 5r55e to replace the ****box A4LD. Mine's got a 5 speed auto, surprised you didn't feel it when you drove it from Dumont to the track!

They quit using the A4LD in 1994. It was replaced by the much improved 4R55E and 4R44E in 1995. All Ranger autos are based off the C3 except for the C5 used in the 1980s. Even the 5-speeds are based off the C3.

I know this thread has got off topic but I have to say this, last night I almost got stuck in my 2wd while out racco0n hunting. I would have to say that a 4x4 would definatley be benificial for what I do. Maybe your a city guy who never goes out in the fields.

Also, you two use your trucks in two different ways, so why complain and 5 letter word about it even if he says he's got twin sticks.

And the 553 or w/e If I can't afford payments for 7 grand why post up something thats like 10? (not being an a$$, but just saying)
