Everyone Look !!!!!

This guy is a friend of mine. this is a great truck. everyone should look at it and take in what it stands for!

God Bless America and our Troops!

Tribute!!

CountryboyNC Nov 7, 2005 07:34 PM

thats a nice truck, and as a solier i appreciate it along with the others. what i dont like tho is the bull sheet comments underneath it.

lifted97ranger Nov 7, 2005 07:51 PM

Yea some people have no respect for our country and those who have served and who are serving. it is just sick and sad

HarryTasker Nov 7, 2005 07:51 PM

I have to wonder if that is a paint job or a vinyl lay over.

I didn't read too many of the comments.

I don't look at it and get offended. I kind of cringe when I think of how much money was put into that instead of being don't to charities for Vets and their families, or to other actual monuments that will with stand the test of time.

I also think its in poor taste that they are using a tribute to fallen soldiers for advertising.

It would be like seeing a commercial on TV that lists the names of a few soldiers that died recently in Iraq while a Flag is blowing in the wind and the national anthem playing in the back ground. Then at the end we get a message to shop at Bob's tire barn.

But I am not a soldier, I am not a Vet. And this is only my opinion, I just think it is a little irreverent.

This is how I see it. If there are service people that appreciate it then please tell me why. I am not looking to pick fights here, or even make this political this is just my initial responce to the truck.

It looks to be painted or airbrushed on. I didnt read the whole article but the truck looks awesome.

TReff Nov 7, 2005 07:58 PM

saw it in a magazine afew months ago

Very nice love the theme..

lifted97ranger Nov 7, 2005 08:06 PM

the flag is paint and the soldiers are airbrush while the names are hand written with a silver sharpie. it took matt's wife and sister 2 weeks to write over 1900 names

YellowEdge Nov 7, 2005 08:07 PM

That is amazing!

LILBLUE04FX4L2 Nov 7, 2005 08:17 PM

very nice
too bad about the :bsflag: thread that goes along with it.....

here is a Caddie-Crap tribute that I found in the thread details - also very nice

rangererv Nov 7, 2005 08:33 PM

awesome truck..
after reading everyones response, it makes me sick how everything is turn into a race issues about your color or background

Splitfire Nov 7, 2005 10:23 PM

I love that truck, saw it awhile ago at a show or something, can't remember the event but it's a great truck that stands for a great purpose. Good to see that patriotism hasn't failed everyone. Kudos to him and the purpose it stands for!

rolla_guy72 Nov 7, 2005 10:40 PM

ryanrebel125 Nov 7, 2005 10:51 PM

people today are ignorant. it is a nice truck tho, i give a definite thumbs up to the job they did on it, and the amt of time they spent and detail, but i agree, dont use to advertise. capitalizing on a tragedy is wrong and unpatriotic.

Splitfire Nov 8, 2005 10:04 AM

It's not capitalizing on anything, they are a company (or companies that are represented) and they will obviously make some money from it, that's how the free market system works, but before pointing fingers I will say that I give them the benefit of the doubt that their intent was to honor the soldiers who are over there fighting. What would we think if a broken down, rusty, delapidated old truck with nothing nice on it was painted to resemble that? We'd take it more as an insult because of the condition of the vehicle it was on.

the truck was not intented to make money off of it. this truck was orgionally(sp) designed to look this way weither or not sponsers came together or not. out of the $125,000 in the truck matt (the owner) and his family has about $80,000 in it. that includes buying the truck new in 2004. this truck was designed as a tribute to our soldiers past present and future.

mammioo Nov 8, 2005 03:52 PM

nice truck. i like the sentiment.

IN2 FX4 Nov 8, 2005 04:04 PM

I am a Viet Nam vet and I think it is great that these people created their own monument to our soldiers. I see nothing wrong with some commercial donations to help build the monument and being recognized for it. That is a typical way we get things done in the USA. Too bad the soldiers of Viet Nam didn't get more of this kind of support back then. I remember having stuff thrown at me when I came home. I am not saying there was no support for the Viet Nam soldiers, there just was not the kind of things you see today supporting our soldiers. Maybe we have learned from the past.

I say thanks to everyone and every contribution that honors our soldiers.

What's your point? I already agreed with you. I was disclosing the opinion above mine stating that it was a commercialistic venture.

I love the truck, the job done on it is amazing, but dont use it for advertising, that is wrong and it disrespects those fighting for our freedom.
THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR SOLDIERS! Whether or not you agree with the war thank you for fighting for us and standing firm!

lifted97ranger Nov 8, 2005 09:15 PM

the truck was not done for advertising. it got asked to be there by the painter to show off the truck. were else would that many people see the truck, all those people who would know that someone has spent time and money on memorilizing people's family and friends who have died in iraq. People today are dumb. i guess they dont know what it means to be free. if you think this truck disrespects those fighting for our freedom, then i guess you also think that about all the war memorials around the country. Some company made them, most have the company's name on them who made them. is that not advertising? Get your all's head out of your ass's. THIS TRUCK IS A MEMORIAL TO OUR SOLDIERS. THE NAMES OF THE FALLEN SOLDIERS ARE GROWING EVERY DAY AND MATT(THE OWNER) AND HIS FAMILY WILL CONTINUE TO INVEST IN THIS TRUCK TO UPDATE IT. NO ONE ELSE BUT HIM AND HIS FAMILY.

A MEMORIAL GET THAT STRAIGHT!! JUST LIKE THE VIETNAM WALL IN WASHINGTON!! ONLY THIS ONE IS MOBILE AND WILL PROBABLY TOUR THE COUNTRY GOING TO MILITARY BASES SO SOLDIERS CAN HONOR THEIR FALLEN COMRADS!!

IF YOU DOG THIS TRUCK YOU ARE DOGING OUR COUNTRY.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE WITH THE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE THAT ARE CAPITALIZING ON THE TRAGEDY IN NEW ORLEANS? WHY IS THE GOVERNMENT PAYING TRUCK DRIVERS $2000 TO TRANSPORT GOODS DOWN THERE AND ANOTHER $100 AN HOUR YES AN HOUR TO SIT THERE WHILE THEY UNLOAD THEIR TRAILERS WHICH COULD TAKE DAYS?

SUPPORT YOU TROOPS WITH OUT THEM YOU WOULD BE SHOT FOR SAYING WHAT YOU JUST SAID!!
