Everything stopped!

So after work, go to my truck that is parked slightly downhill. Turn the key, everything starts. Put my foot on the brake, shifting it into Reverse. Touch gas, and the car just rolls forward. Shift into drive and nothing happens. Put it in park and turn off the car. Let sit and retry starting the car. The key turns but nothing happens. No clicks no nothing, just the brake light on the dash goes on. Take the key out and back in and try starting the truck but this time this time the key wont turn to even start the engine. Try turning the wheel and pushing the car but everything has gotten stuck. When I put the key in, I only get a dinging noise if the key is pryed up against the tumbler. Left the truck at work. It's the 4th of July tomorrow so plans have been put on hold. Any ideas?

If the key won't even turn now, then start with that.
The ignition switch is not actually where the key is, it's down low near the end of the steering column.

There's a link from the key is to the ignition switch.
Go into the steering column and make sure that the metal rod that connects the tumbler to the ignition switch has not jammed or become disconnected.

Inspect the plastic tangs the rod fits into are not broken and make sure the actual switch has not come lose or is broken.

If the ignition switch is jammed it may not be getting power to the rest of the truck.
If you do find something wrong in that areas, that may fix you other problems.

May also be a good idea to check your fluid level in the trans too.

Welcome to the forum.

Steering wheel lock will prevent key from turning in the lock, you can turn steering wheel left or right a bit to release the lock while turning the key

If you lost all voltage, no lights on the dash, last time you turned the key, then the Shifter unlock will not work, so won't allow you to shift out of Park.

I would open the hood and test battery voltage first.
Also put the meters Negative probe on the Alternators metal case and positive probe on battery positive
It should read EXACTLY the same as battery terminals did

New Battery is 12.8volts
3 year old battery is 12.5volts
5 to 6 year old battery is 12.3volts and time to shop for battery sale

12.2volts or under is a done battery, replace it

But a good battery can be drained by a bad alternator, Battery Light on the dash should have come on last time you were driving it if alternator was failing.

Yes, as Jeff R 1 said, check out ignition switch under the steering column if battery checks out as OK

So turning the wheel worked to unlock the key. Lights go on in the dash. And the radio turns on. So a bit of progress. But now when I turn the key the brake and abs and 4wd lights flash on and a beep is heard. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.ran...a2dcb2cf2c.jpg

Check brake fluid

And on the Master cylinder you should see a 2 wire connection, unplug it and plug it back in, that cleans it contacts
