ah id rather hear my diesel then a muffler . jk
ive been thinking bout upgrading my exhaust. which wxhaust can help out the engine give more hp or its just a myth? dont mind if the sound doesent get louder thow id like it but my main consern is an exhaust that gets me better performance, thow i dont wana need to sell my nuts to be able to pay for it, got other mods in mind for that

I just got back from having a Flowmaster 40 series installed. Other than the muffler, my exhaust is completely stock. And the truck still sounds stock.
That sucks.
Thinking I need to just dump it. I didn't spend that money to have it sound the same.

Glasspacks? You've gotta be effin' kidding me. Seriously.
no worries...it's on topic.
I've ran both and am currently running a Super 44. And well, Super40 and Super44 are so similar in sound, it's hard to tell which is louder. The 44 is deeper than the super40, and I think the 44 is better sounding all around than the Super 40, but again, they are very close in comparison between how both sound. Then again, there are so many variables to it....muffler distance from the engine, tailpipe lengths, number of bends, type of tips, size of tips, size of tubing, dual or single.... just saying there's plenty of variables.
I know this for sure: Dumped for dumped, the super44 is louder than the super40 if both are dumped and on a 4.0L SOHC.
Another thing i do know, is that a Delta Flow 40 is louder than a Super 40 on a 4.0L OHV.

I've grown old of having dumped exhaust. Starting to get annoyingish. Pretty much any performance muffler on a v6 at high rpm's will sound 'rice'. No way of getting around that.....espicially if it's dumped.
To finally answer your question: it's sounds good, but riceish at high rpms.
Something for ALL to keep in mind...theres THREE different 40 series flowmasters: Original 40, Delta Flow 40, and the Super 40. And a Super 44 is a variation of a 40 series as well, but in a smaller case.
