How did your body swap turn out . Got a 1999 ford exployer xlt wanted to swap a 1999 ford ranger xlt body . Other than body mounts how much trouble is it thanks for any info

 

It turned out fine. There was an entire thread on the swap with pictures and descriptions. I don't know if they are still here, I haven't been on this forum for quite a while. The problem with our swap, my grandson (he is 302RANGERAWD) and myself, is that we had a 1995 Ranger body and put it on a 1998 Explorer chassis. Everything is completely different. Nothing lines up, so we did a lot of welding and cutting. We shortened the bed by about 8" to make it fit on the shorter wheelbase Explorer. The swap you want to do should be relatively easy, since the chassis is the same for both vehicles. If you can't find my thread on the swap, let me know and I will send you a link to the pictures (no descriptions, unfortunately). The truck is currently out of commission, he blew the tranny.
