Farewell to my 4-door Ranger

Last week I sold the Ranger. It served me well the last 4 years, and I surely will miss it, but it was time to move on. Plan is to get an Escape or a Focus, I am not sure yet. Looking here and there to get the best possible vehicle for the money I have. Best plan would be to get a DD car and a first gen Ranger, who knows...

Here's the last picture I took of it, and that was it. She was gone.

A lot of us want to say "NOOOO!!!"
because a truck like this isn't easily attainable.

Best of luck with your future vehicle!

Man, so sad to see your lady go, I´ve been through this past year and I know it hurts (no homo LOL).

About posting your offer in the forum I think that would be a good idea too, but anyways the import process for any buyers would be a pain in the ***.

Hope to see you soon driving something like this bro!

Thanks, Fit. A Powerstroke would be awesome, but I bet the wife would kill me. Lol.

DJ, I've heard mostly good reviews on Escapes, but every now and then I find someone who had bad luck with them.

My sister has a 2004 4x4 and my dads got a 2012 awd one. They are great cars and dad gets about 25 city and almost 30 mpg highway. Both are extremely comfortable. If I wanted a small SUV there would be no other options.

Getting an AWD Escape would be a plus, but I know they are not real 4x4s. I'm sure the AWD can be helpful from time to time...

the AWD system is more along the lines of a traction control system...if the front wheels slip it sends power to the rear wheels

It's a city vehicle. Me and the wife went to see some Explorers, but since she'd be driving the truck on a daily basis, she didn't feel comfortable driving it, so Escapes are the best option so far.

I bought a brand new Escape back in 2009. V6 AWD. Had to lemon law. Trans leaks fixed 2 times. PTU fixed for leaks. Returned. Replaced whole PTU(Power transfer unit). Bad cam solinoids on engine had to be replaced.
I did like the car alot but could never trust it. It was great in the snow. Had great power, but just a bad car. Check out Escape-city.com. I wasn't alone with these issues. Trans issues are abundant. See for yourself. Good luck.

Oh, and besides the trans leaking it has programming issues. Had the trans flashed 3 times. Look on there for that too.
I also forgot I had the drive shaft replaced 2 times. When driving had bad vibrations. Also not alone there either. Just saying be careful.
Still like Ford. I traded it in on a 2012 Mustang. That has been GREAT and alot of fun!

Thanks for the advice. I've been looking around Escape-city and Escape-central for the past couple of weeks, and found people having issues here and there, but I'm sure I'll make a smart purchase. I'm taking a mech friend with me to check on the cars. I can't rely on myself finding all the little issues. If I miss something, my friends finds about it.
