I assume by lifting it, youre going to put bigger tires on correct? That will only make things worse power wise. Id just leave it stock, drive it for awhile save up some money for something you'll like and go from there. Thats what i did, drove trucks into the ground like my old 2.3L ranger, with 200k miles on it, saved up while driving (got good gas mileage so gas wasnt a problem while saving).

Preferably so low that the frame is resting on the ground preventing it from moving...

Its going to probably be hceaper for you to just find another ranger with the 4.0.. If you arent mechanicaly inclined, and having a garage put it in for you, its going to cost a lot of money. Just leave the truck alone and drive it while saving for another truck.

X runners and SRT 10s aren't that fast.

Ok. I'm going to try and post this as pleasantly as possible so I don't get accussed of being a A-Hole like the rest of you people.

First and foremost, you've been given plenty of great advice in this thread. You simply need to read the comments left by people and take them serioiusly (well at least some of them). D. and Nickster have 2 of the faster trucks on this forum. They know their stuff and if your serious about making your truck faster, I'm sure people here would be glad to help. But you need to start posting with proper grammar and punctuation (I know this is sometimes tough for a 16 year old, but you'd be amazed how much more pleasant it is to read something with good punctuation) and with a willingness to listen (which for the most part it appears you have.

Second, as already stated, the 3.0L engine is simply a bad engine to mod. It's durable as a mo-facker but as far as going fast, there are much much better ways to create speed. A 5.0L swap from an Mustang would be your best approach. There is plenty of resources available about 5.0L swaps on this forum and RPS. Also, they can be had fairly cheap. Finally, they have a bounty of aftermarket parts.

If you are dead set on putting money into the 3.0L (which from your latest posts sounds like you aren't) things like JBA Headers and Xcal programmers and probably some of your better choices that won't involve tons of custom work to get into the truck.

Third, please be safe. Your initial comments clearly stated you dragged on public roads, which leads me to believe one of two things. 1) You thought you'd be celebrated on this forum if we thought you were tough, out draggin' the mean country roads of CT (which means you actually did lie to us in which case I will chalk up to a 16 year old mentality) or 2) you actually do this crap with your buddies.

If it's 1, you'll grow out of it. I did (yes, I used to think draggin was cool and I know some of you did as well at that age). If it's 2, please think twice next time. FireRanger isn't lying when he says it's dangerous cause no matter how barren a road may be 95% of the time, it only takes one time for a car to come around a corner and people's lives can be screwed up forever.

Finally, I'd like say welcome to R-F. I'm hoping you can pick up a thing or two and we can help you out if you really want to learn.

Well you didn't create the forum, you made a thread in the forum.

Yes, that is all you were asking, however you also said that you were "street racing", that's what got you flamed, it's also why nobody is helping you.

When I posted that I had no idea what engine you had or anything, from reading through the thread I believe you have a 3.0.

I can tell you that a 3.0 is slow on acceleration, doesn't really have a lot of torque, overall not a very good engine.

Personally I've had mine up to 137, it took FOREVER to get to that speed, yes, it would have went faster, however I don't have the "testicular fortitude" to go faster than that.

I would like to note, my 3.0 is stock, all it's got is exhaust, k&n filter(< POS.),pulleys, and a few other nick-nacks.

BTW: I was not on a public street when I took it to 137.

I will throw in my 2 cents because I'm hardly older than him (although maturity, proper grammer, spelling and punctuation are far, far apart). Sniper is 99% correct, although by the looks/sounds of it you are a at heart not born to own a Ranger. To make them "fast" you have to start with a decent motor (or have the ability/parts to swap one), and judging by your IQ displayed in this thread and maturity you have shown you don't have the ability to swap motors, handle a "fast" vehicle, especially not a "fast truck". Don't spend money on your truck, by the sounds of it you should keep your Burger Flipping income and buy a newer car meant to be "fast" or lease something with a warranty, because if you behave the way you told us, you will need one (unless they don't believe your incredibly convincing lies).

PS - This isn't meant to insult anyone swapping/swapped for a larger motor (because I am), just basing it from his over-whelming sense of ricer presented before us.
