Running 35's with just a body lift, but with Fiberglass fenders?

Would keep COG lower than double lifting, but would make room for 35's. Is there any Fiberglass out there that would look good with stock width and 35's? Or are they all to wide?

Just a thought. I hate drop bracket suspension lifts and eventually hopefully next year, will be running 35's. Just curious.

 

So you basically want a stock fiberglass fender with a cut out? No flare. It would clear 35's for sure.

 

Well, enough of a flare to cover the tires width. If that exists. I'm on my phone and already incredibly over my data limit so m not going to google a bunch of glass, just curious if anyone's seen/heard of it being done. And how it looks basically.

 

Lots of people do it. Looks ok with 3" glass but if you wheel hard with stock susp. And 35's you are you to have a bad time.

Do you have a suspension lift ?
I don't think 35s with just a body lift will work.

 

I don't wheel "hard" just in the bush to get firewood, deep snow since they don't plow the back roads, etc. no crawling or anything. Yet.

Scrambler, I COULD fit 35's with just a body lift. No offroading at all though.

However I'm asking if I do Fiberglass as well, which increases wheel arch size will I be alright.

I do not have a drop bracket suspension lift. And never will.


For the record, this truck is only body lifted and is on 35's.

 

I've thought about doing exactly this to maximize ground clearance without the extra height. I think it would could look good if done right, sort of like a short track truck. It would depend on the specific fender and the rise/flare you asked for. Check out member fibermike's threads. He makes the best looking ranger fenders I have seen.

 

I've never heard of a non-flared setup - but I could be wrong.

I've thought along the same lines, but since I have a suspension lift maybe 37's with flared fenders and bedsides.

That's if my truck crosses over to the show truck/mall crawler stage.

Yes. But it may look goofy with the bodylift gaps and the sucked-in looking wheels, even though they're 15x10's. Edges can pull it off with minimal flare size and spindles because the spindles increase the track width.


If you're wanting 35's to look right and clear without body damage, cut some sheetmetal like Beard's truck.


Here's my buddy's 2wd Edge with 3" spindle, 35's on 15x10, and McQueen Fiberglass with minimal measurements.

im all for cutting the current fenders. but then id have to pull them, or make flares since my tires stick out farther.

 

Not quite 35s but 315 75 16 tires (approx 34.5) with a body lift and tortion bar crank.



Did minor trimming to flares and valence

 

Glass fenders would bring it together much better in my opinion

 

Or just do what the cool kids do, ditch the body lift, go long travel, trim inner fenders and run fiberglass and 35s with a lower cog

 

The glass fenders are too wide IMHO, throws off the front look of the truck into something way different, kind of like a Toyota.

Stick to flares either OEM stuff of some Bushwacker type, if by some chance you want to take the body lift out you can just go down in tire size and still have a good looking Ranger.

35's and 3" BL work okay for the street. I actually find it to be the perfect size. But she rubbed inner fenders at full crank and no way in hell would I have wheeled it like that. Rocked it like this for about a week or so after I sold my 32's and before the 4" Superlift went on. I had 15x10's and MAXED the heck out T-bars.

 

yeah, glass fenders would raise the opening, so it would have room to move up and down. wheel with the right backspacing would take care of turning issues.
