Flex fuel
Flex fuel
Have a 2000 ranger 3.0 flex fuel truck that I installed an 02 motor, transmission and harness in. The motor, trans and harness came out of a NON flex fuel truck. Ran ok but missed for a while. Missing grew worst and at times has no power. Pulled a code p0176 flex fuel sensor. Along with p0715 (speed sensor) and p0113 (air intake sensor).
Question 1: how do I approach the flex fuel / non flex fuel issue?
and
#2 how do I test the air intake sensor.
Thanks for all your help

Did you use the 2000 flex fuel injectors?
Have you looked at the connector under driver seat that goes thru the floor, in 2000 its called C309
Google: 2000 ford ranger c309 connector
There is a TSB for it, and could cause the P0176 because of a bad connection
Also while under there unplug the 3 wire connector on the Fuel Sensor, next to the fuel filter, and check it for corrosion
P0715 - Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction
There is a TSS(turbine shaft speed) sensor inside the transmission, have to pull the transmission out and basically rebuild it to change this sensor
But maybe its just a wiring issue
Unplug the 16 pin connector on drivers side of transmission
Use an OHM Meter to test the TSS wires
Diagram below
TSS + and - should read, as shown, 64-125 ohms if its OK inside transmission
