Sonic Blue in a spraycan?

Anyone have any idea where I can buy some sonic blue paint in a spraycan? I have some interior trim parts that I want to paint body color (my cluster bezel and radio bezel) and I was looking to avoid having paint mixed.

I tried autozone, and murrays. No luck.

Thanks.

Thanks for the advice. Been wondering the same thing for a while.

I've covered up the battle scars on my hood with touch up paint and it just doesn't look right. Color matches and all, but you can still tell :(

Take the bezels to a shop and have them done in sonic blue and then coated with a durable clear coat. It might ' cost more ' but if you want it done right and have it last, it won't be cheap. ' Sonic Blue ' is both pearlescent AND metallic in properties. Kinda tough to get either one out of a rattlecan to apply nicely let alone BOTH.

I have yet to find a rattle can ( Including the great Krylon fusion type ) to hold up well.
I was going to do the surround in the cluster that goes over the faces. I am also getting aftermarket needles for my 04 cluster and painting the base of them (the part that is black on the stock ones)

I was going to do the radio bezel that houses the fog light switch and powerpoints as well.

I just called a carquest and they say they have the ability to mix dupont paints there. They can do it in "vinyl" covering for interior. What do you think of this? I can paint it myself I have equipment available.

One option (but significantly more $$ than spray cans) is to get the paint mixed in as small a container (pint, half pint) as possible and get a prevail sprayer. You'd have the proper paint and not have to get the tooling (gun, compressor, etc). The prevail will do small items no problem. The problem with this is you can easily hit $100 between paint, clear, thinners, hardeners, etc.

When I was able to get the rattle can, the color matched well and it held up. If you find the right automotive paint store that has the equipment, they can mix one spray can for $20-$25.

yes - 20$ for half pint - I'm happy with that, thats what I'm going to do, carquest quoted me that just now.

I still need to get my new needles. I think it will look cool with painted blue bases on them. Since I have an edge I need something that will stand out against my white face gauges. Now that I have blue LED's in there the orange needles that are stock don't show up as good. I did some experimenting with a different pair of needles and painted the tip bottom blue. The important thing for the LED's to shine bright is that you need a clear needle (if your going to use blue LED's, I also have white ones laying around and they shine good) The blue and orange just fight eachother.

So hopefully when I get my new needles it will just be clusteriffic.

i dunno, i have some Plasti-Kote spray paint i bought to do some inside trim in my 93 F-150 and the color i had the truck painted is a pearlesenct/metallic and it came out fine. all i did was wet sand the parts with 400 grit, primer, wet sand, primer, wet sand, primer, wet sand, base, base, base, clear, clear, clear and it turned out great. i used dupli-color primer and clear outta the rattle can.

i do have to admit, the color is slightly off but its a red and isnt the easier to spray but if i hold a piece up to the truck it matches pretty good especially for being plastic parts.

good luck cuz i wanna do this w/ my gals truck.
