I've jumped on the band wagon...
...and finally did the accident mod to my truck! I was trying to turn in to an empty parking lot to meet my friend to give her her Mary Kay order, and my truck wouldn't slow down. To get off the street and not hit another car, I turned into the parking lot, ran over the curb, and hit a cinderblock pole. Luckily the parking lot was deserted, and the building had been empty for a while, but my truck is not too happy. The Hella took the brunt of the pole's force, completely breaking off my truck. (to think, I never got them connected!) My airbags went off, and apparently, my breaks are fine...even though they didn't want to work for me!
The worst part of it all, is that right now my left hand is killing me, especially the hand my wedding rings are on...I guess that makes sense, though, b/c the prongs on my engagement ring are flat, and the diamond is gone. My ring was mutilated about as much as my truck was!
I don't have any pictures just yet, b/c it's not really that bad, but I'll take some tomorrow...another good thing, is that my friend who I was going to meet is also my boss, and she's not expecting me at work tomorrow, so I'm going to take care of the insurance crap on my car and my ring, and take pix of both!
But yeah - here I am thinking not reading all the "accident mod" posts would jinx me, and I did it anyway!!!

Bobby thinks I hit a pile of leaves, which totally makes sense for where I was on the road...as for not hitting a car, that's pretty much standard for me - my cars tend to be attracted to inanimate objects, such as gas station poles, this cinderblock pole, tail pipes of GIANT trucks, and portapotties...I've only hit a moving car once, and we were both running red lights, and we were the only 2 cars on the road (it was Thanksgiving 2003)!
I'm sure I'll hurt like HELL in the morning, though!!

no, it's not a good wagon to jump on, and I had to have been going 25-30, b/c I really had just turned on main st, and was following slow cars, so I didn't get to get up to speed. The car didn't seem to slow down at all, which is why I went ahead and turned where I was, b/c I didn't want to hit the slow car turning into the Kerr parkinglot in front of me. the McD's parking lot is fine, it's been abandoned for quite some time now. And according to Bobby, leaves on the road are very slippery. I blamed the breaks, bobby blamed the leaves..
And as funny as it may seem to you guys, it's really not. You guys still have your trucks and your big *** diamond...I don't...

the truck is covered by auto insurance, the rings are covered by the extended service plan i bought with them. everything will be ok, her pride is just hurt, and its just an inconvenience. the truck is ok to drive, but i dont want her to just incase something goes wrong, she will be driving my truck im sure until hers is fixed.

I'm sorry I got so pissed yesterday, but Bobby's right, my pride is really hurt...well, it was - Bobby just called me, after talking to his service guy at a local Ford Dealership, and found out why my brakes failed yesterday - it was an INTERNAL MASTER CYLINDER FAILURE. Apparently it's not common on Rangers, but that's how the cylinder fails - stops working for one second, and then it's fine again - but it continues until its fixed. That's absolutely rediculous. Trucks bought brand new, and that are less than a year old should NOT have these problems! And my arms are getting worse, I still can't find my diamond, and I've called my lawyer, waiting for his input. I have a strong feeling I'll be raising hell with Ford, and making them pay for EVERYTHING - diamond, medical, truck, etc. Hoping I don't have to call my insurance company...
