Ford needs a v8!

So as many of u probably already know for 2009 the chevy Colorado will have the option of a v8, of course it's 30k. Now is def the time to make a production ranger that feature at least the 4.6L! I think they would smoke the Colorado on sales and popularity some the chevy is a POS anyway LOL. Who's with me?

Well I definitely wouldn't be opposed to the idea.

If I wanted a V8 I would just get a F-150 or F-250 though.

But it'd be cool non-the-less.

I'll just shove my dad's 3.9 V8 from his Lincoln LS in my truck.

It wont happen so give it up. You want a V8 and a crew cab in a non F150 sized truck then get a Sport Trac.

Why don't you just buy a Colorado?

Oh that's right, because they are gay.

Sport tracs have everything a lot of ranger guys want in their next mini truck. A v8 and 4 real doors. The downside is a very small bed and a $35k pricetag.

I honestly think they look good lifted. I don't understand the crew cab though. Getting in the back seats is just as hard as getting into the back of a Ranger.

New Sport Tracs come with the 4.0 or the 4.6.

IMO, the Colorados are good looking trucks, but that's all I like about them.

Too bad that the GMP division is being axed....so no more supervettes...no more v8 colorado/canyons.... only lasted two model years. I drove one...and honestly....it's only slightly faster than our trucks....GM detunes those bastards like all the other manufacturers do to their diesels.

Wish I could afford a new Sport Trac. I would get one but probably just get a F150.

if you want one that badly just go to a junkyard find a 5.0 or whatever v8 you can get your hands on and just swap it in, it will save you money at the stealership in the long run..... or just go to mexico or brazil or somewhere else and just buy a 4 door diesel ranger there and bring it back??? lol

LOL!!! Do you miss your sport trac at all?

And if you want a V8 so bad, the swap is way cheaper.

I like them more than the S10

No lie. You could pick up a ranger with ton of miles on it for cheap, swap Motor, Tranny, and rear end, completely re-do the interior, and re-paint it for 30k.

Of course, then you'd be doing all the work yourself instead of having some machines build it in the factory plus there is no warranty...

I'd rather have an engine in my vehicle where I barely have to touch the throttle for DD than an engine where I have to use 1/2 throttle + just to accelerate with the rest of traffic.
