Ford Ranger 2003 V6 3.0 8 miles/Gal/ City.
I buy old Ford Ranger 2003 , i got 5-8 Mile per Gal. in City , highway is OK, 15-17 miles.
I still have some misfire.
I change Air Filter
Spark Plugs
Ignition Coil
Ignition wires.
Fuel Filter.
Oil change ( Synthetic)
So far i check 4 of 6 Fuel injectors ( by screw driver) 2 are under manifold i have to remove to got some aces.
NO blue or Black smoke.
Also i try Smoke machine.
Also Start fluid spray ...for leaks.
Run very nice , but in City i make 105 mile per tank?!
Any help .
Thank You.

Yes, is Automatic transmission ,
According with old owner, he change the transmission , car have 208.000 miles.
He replace the motor with old one( 55.000 miles) also transmission ( 30.000 miles)
I got only one code pick up , for air bags, i can see the light on .
If i buy a good software (Toda) may pick some codes from transmission ?
Car shift nice, NO kicks , i see losing oil , one seal i may have to replace.
How . were to go to double check the trans. torque ?
Make a lot of sense.
Thank you .

Welcome to the forum
Automatic or Manual transmission?
Have the codes read for free at auto parts store, WRITE THEM DOWN
Post them here
If you have an automatic trans torque converter may not be locking up which causes big drop in MPG at lower speeds

I think i know what that mean ( i hope) , or i am totally wrong ,lol.
Is like slippery trans. ?
I must have a specific RPM in some gear like 1.800 RPM and actually i run 2.200 RPM , but i don't think or may be something else , i was wonder if may be arrow that indicate the position of gear, i see is off, Parking ,Return,Drive, Drive 2 , arrow is more to the right, NOT in the middle.
Thank You.

Ron, now i think what you mean.
Is all about transmission and you right, i check oil, super black, i remove some, i add 1 Qt. fresh.
When i push gas paddle then remove my foot , car still running like i still push gas, means when i brake i just burn more gas.
I will try to change every week one Qt. of transmission oil , until i got nice clean color, i don't want to be aggressive , to change one shut, may start sleep.
What you think ?

Change fluid and filter all at once.........is my opinion
Not sure it will solve the problem if torque converter isn't locking, but it might
ATF is red, it can only get darker/black if there is ALOT of heat being generated inside the transmission
Some heat is generated by the pump to get 200psi pressure, but that should stay under 190degF and will NOT cause ATF to darken
Only other source of heat is SLIPPING, bands, clutches and/or torque converter is slipping

I change oil, filter, i got some improvement , i got 120 miles ( run AC) a way better then b4, i still have some blocking on converter torch , when is cold oil acting better , then when i dive more then 45 min. at 90 degree heat , looks like converter still lock, i was thinking if i replace the oil pan ( extended more oil in) with drain pan , more capacity , change oil more frequent , may help.
There is any web site i can order a larger pan whit drain pan ?
Thank You , RonD.
