ford wont do the recall on my truck

Ford will not do the recall on my truck. i have a 2000 B3000 with the red sensor (the bad one!) They said they will not do it because mazda doesnt have a recall out and because my truck isnt a ford. this is total BS since all the mechanical and electrical stuff in my truck, is stamped as ford ranger.

I was going to email ford and see if i can get an over ride so the dealer has to do my repair. What do you guys think?

if its not recalled they wont fix it.

deal with it.

its no different then this second batch of recalls, everyone knew it was the same unit but Ford didnt recall them so those were not fixed. Check that wire for voltage while the truck is not running. IF it has no voltage then you are not at as high of risk.

If Ford feels it needs to be recalled they will do it.

If you want it fixed pay for it yourself.

Honestly, I don't see your beef with Ford. Ford is telling you they won't honor a Maxda issue. It makes sense to me.

I agree, you will make the most progress at the Mazda dealer.

Dosnt matter what parts make up the truck...the name on the tailgate says "Mazda" not "Ford". You cant buy brand new Mazda trucks off a Ford lot, so why would you expect them to do Ford recal repairs for you?

It might suck, but thats just how it works.

how does it not matter what the truck is made of!?!? if its the ford part that is failing causing the fires. this part is on my truck. so in other words, since its not a ford it can just burn?

I agree with you gibbs, mazda trucks and rangers are the same truck. Made with ford and mazda parts. If ford owns a portion of mazda and they all make the same vehicles but with different badges, then they should fix it.

Still has the same chance of catching fire. If ford gave a damn about business then they would fix it, and they wonder why they are losing sales.

I agree with camodown on this. Mazda's are built with ford parts, it's a shame you can't get this fixed for a recall. Sadly enough this is similar to the reason why I traded my Mazda in for a Ford Ranger.

What company does the VIN NUMBER point to, and what does the Manufacturer Sticker on the Door frame say the maker of the vehicle is?

MAZDA.... sorry bro, but you have to chock this one up to an oversight, and either replace it yourself, or move on and take your chances.

damn guys why dont you take your mazda to a lincoln dealer and get them to do the recall.. its the same thing?? or how bout landrover?? Look its simple the dealer (not ford, the dealers are not owned by ford) gets payed to perform the recalls by ford, so if your truck isnt covered under the ford recall then the dealer will NOT get paid to perform the repair.. do you work for free??

see its simple, so take it to a mazda dealer. assuming its even on the recall list

JOSH

You need to deal with Mazda. If you owned 10 shares of Dell stock could I call you to fix my computer? Think about it. Ford Doesn't OWN MAzda. They own SOME of Mazda.

JOSH

He's already stated that he had the faulty switch and since it's a FORD only recall he's screwed since he owns a Mazda. Even though Mazda use's the same parts [ie: the recalled parts]. I feel bad for him since his truck could catch fire and nobody either FORD or MAZDA would give a s##t.
